This board makes it possible to connect original annunciators (e.g. light bulbs) to the flight simulator via LAN. Plug and play with JeeHell, ProSim (A320 and 737) and X-Plane. The special feature of the circuit board is that 210 mA is guaranteed for each of the 64 outputs. Even at full load (all outputs active), the voltage hardly drops, so that a light test is also possible. Comparable products advertise 500 mA per output. However, the outdated chips never manage to drive even 210 mA without a significant voltage drop. The result is often that the lamps barely light up when all outputs are active. This circuit board was specially developed for controlling original 210 mA annunciators and uses modern chips as drivers.

The board has 64 source-type outputs. Connect the supply voltage (e.g. 5 V or 28 V) to the VCC connection on the circuit board (max. 50 V). One pin of the light bulb is connected to the circuit board. The second connection is connected to ground. The circuit board switches against the supply voltage. The drivers have protective diodes so that inductive loads can also be switched.

Up to 210 mA per output (14 A total load)

An external 5 volt power supply is required.

A virtually endless number of dimmer expansions can be connected in series to the dimmer board using a ribbon cable. The dimmer board transmits the brightness signal via the cable to the expansions, to which lamps (max. 28 V, max. 5 A) and their power supply (max. 28 V) can be connected as normal, as with the dimmer board.

This means that an infinite number of sub-dimmers with different voltages can be controlled with one potentiometer on the dimmer board.

All grounds of the power supplies of dimmers and expansions must be connected.

With this dimmer, all lamps (max. 28 V) that can be dimmed using pulse width modulation (PWM) can be dimmed between 0 and 100 % (e.g. LEDs or small light bulbs). The lamps and their supply voltage (max. 28 V) can be connected via two separate screw terminals. The load must not exceed 5 A.

The board has an input that can be used to switch off the dimmer. In this case, the connected lamps are extinguished. Ground must be connected to the input for this. In any case, the dimmer requires its own stable 5 V power supply. This should not be subjected to a high PWM load.

The brightness can be adjusted with a potentiometer (100 Ohm to 1 Megaohm), which is not included in the delivery contents.

The board also has a connection for dimmer expansions, which can be used to control other lamp systems, including those with different voltages, via the same potentiometer on this board (see “Dimmer expansion”).
